Barth A. Leatherman, age 79, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023. He was born in California on August 28, 1943, the son of the late Paul O. and Victoria (Barth) Leatherman. He worked for many years at Illinois Tool Works, his last position being Vice President/General Manager, retiring in 2008. Barth lived life to the fullest, engaging in whatever had his attention whether it was work, sports, building something or just spending time with family and friends. If you were with Barth, he was always present and took a genuine interest in what you were doing. He enjoyed keeping up with his many friends, but his true passion was being there for and with his family. He never missed a chance to be with family or to encourage them in their endeavors. His love, companionship, insight, encouragement and passion for life will be missed by everyone that knew Barth.

Barth is survived by his sons: David (Mary) Leatherman and Mark (Cheryl) Leatherman; grandchildren: Dustin (Nora Dwyer) Leatherman, Nathan (Shelby Slager) Slager-Leatherman, Jacob Leatherman and Jamie Leatherman; brothers: Vic (Terrie) Leatherman, Ken (Rita) Leatherman and Tim (Mary) Leatherman; sister, Lynn (Neal) Haufe; many nieces and nephews; and his dogs, Gracie and Kane. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Carol Wilkins; second wife, Penny (Jackson) Leatherman; son, Darren Leatherman; grandson, Joshua Leatherman; and brother, David Leatherman.

A visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2023, at Seefeld Funeral Home. Online Condolences may be expressed at www.seefeldfuneral.com.
