Carice C. Koch (nee Culbertson), 83, died on December 15, 2020 at Evergreen Manor, Oshkosh, WI.
She was born March 2, 1937, to Marjorie (Brintnall) and Eldred Culbertson of Seymour, WI. Carice was a farm girl and attended grades 1-8 at North Osborn, a one room country school. She went on to graduate from Seymour High School, and UW-Madison with a B.S. in education.
She married the love of her life, Lynne J. Koch, July 11, 1959 and joined him in Oshkosh where he taught at West High School. They were blessed with four daughters. Carice volunteered at their schools, was a Bluebird & Camp Fire leader, and a Sunday School teacher at First United Methodist Church. She also sang in the church choir and was an organist there for 25 years.
The family loved the outdoors and became avid campers. Carice and Lynne used their retirement years to travel and be campground hosts at Hartman Creek State Park for 20 years.
Carice is survived by Lynne, her dear husband of 61 years, daughters Laura Berndt (R. David), Yvonne Jastrow (Jim), Sarah Allison (Glen), and Karen Clauer (Cliff): 9 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Nancy.
We hope to gather at a warmer and safer time to share her love of music and greet friends and family. For now, please know that your messages, comments and calls have been of great comfort. Please stay safe and well!
