Obituary for Charles William Reehl

Charles Reehl passed away at age 91, on February 18, 2024. He was born on September 27, 1932. He died at home with his family surrounding him. He was the son of George and Meta Reehl.

Charles graduated from Omro High School and entered the Army. He served in the war during the Korean Confilct. He graduated from Oshkosh University and received his degree in Music. He taught for 2 years in Ontonagon, Michigan, and another 18 years in North Fond du Lac. Later he entered the ministry in 1977 and served the lord in the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church for over 40 years.

 He loved to watch and feed the birds (especially the cardinals), taking care of his lawn, and generally being outdoors in nature. He was a strong-willed, faithful, and caring man.

 Charles is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Kathleen (White); four children, Sarah (John) Gabbei, Timothy (Karla) Reehl, Thomas (Molly) Reehl, and Stephen Reehl; seven grandchildren, Emily (Kayla) Becker, Ethan Auck, Dillan Gabbei, Alex Gabbei, Grace Reehl, Olivia Reehl, and Lillian Reehl. He is further survived by brother, Ben (Virginia) Reehl; sisters, Ruth, Marion and Alta Shuster.

 He is preceded by his parents, George and Meta; sisters, Helen Reehl, Doris Schultz and Bernice Cook; brother, Harry Reehl.

 A service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church 2450 W. 9th Ave, Oshkosh WI on Thursday February 29th, 2024, with visitation beginning at 1pm and being held until 3pm. Services to follow.
