Obituary for Cynthia L. Kienert (Smith)

Cynthia L. Kienert, age 57, of Oshkosh, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, February 23, 2017. She was born in Oshkosh on April 30, 1959, the daughter of the late Richard and Patricia (Dubinski) Smith. Cindy was a seamstress for about 20 years at Oshkosh B’gosh, retiring in the R&D department. She had a green thumb, enjoyed knitting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Cindy will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother and friend.
Cindy is survived by her children: Joseph (Lisa) Abitz and Linsey (Ryan) Link; grandchildren: Carter and Drew Abitz, and Meadow Link; significant other, Daniel Kienert; sister: Roxanne (Jeff) Locke; brothers: Harold (Linda) Smith, Kurt (Serena) Smith and Keith Smith; brother-in-law, Terry Sabatini; and in-laws: Merry (Bruce) Meunier, Cynthia Houle and Douglas (Kelly) Kienert. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Susan (Thor) Baardsen.
A visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Seefeld Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Cindy’s name is being established.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mercy Medical Center, Manor Care, and Parkview Health Center for their wonderful care.
