Obituary for Dale L Draeger

Dale L. Draeger, age 79 passed away peacefully at his home on May 18, 2022. He was born in Waupun on October 16, 1942, the son the late Gilbert “Gil” and La Verna Draeger. Dale attended High School in Waupun and after graduation he proudly served in the Air Force. Dale enjoyed working with motors and small engines. Over the years he was able to enjoy his hobby during employment at John Deere, Sears, and Krueger True Value before retirement in 2006. He loved tractor pulls and was fascinated with the roar of the engine. Dale continued into retirement always helping family and friends with Snowblowers, Lawn Mowers and other small engine repairs.

Dale started a beautiful journey with a first date at Walleye Weekend in 1990 where he met his life partner; Doris Beckler. Together they enjoyed deer hunting, gardening, and fishing. Many lazy afternoons were spent floating on Lake Winnebago on the Pontoon. The great outdoors was his Heaven on earth. When Dale could not be outdoors, he enjoyed playing Sheepshead with his family. Dale’s witty humor, sassy style and kind heart will be greatly missed.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents Gil and La Verna, brother Ronald “Ron” Draeger and a daughter Dawn Draeger. Dale is Survived by his lifelong companion Doris Beckler and her two girls: Lori (Mike) Farr and Janet (Mary) Beckler. Sister-in-law Marcie Draeger, niece Patti (David) Roberts, nephews Randy (Jilline) Draeger, Timothy (Jessica) Draeger, great nieces and great nephews, other family and friends, and of course his beloved cat Charlie Brown. His memory will be kept alive by those who loved him so very much.

Friends are invited to celebrate Dale’s life on May 25 from 11:00-1:00 pm at Seefeld Funeral Home at 1025 Oregon St. Oshkosh WI. Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery located at 1283 Main St. Horicon WI.
