David L. Marshall, age 79 of Oshkosh, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022. Born in Oshkosh on November 20, 1942 to Dr. David and Nina Marshall. Dave attended school in Oshkosh and graduated from Oshkosh High School, class of 1960. He then received his accountant associate degree from Fox Valley Technical College. On May 21, 1966, Dave married Charlene Hinz at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Dave started his career in construction, which he contributed in the building of the original Mercy Medical Hospital. From there he briefly delivered beer for Don Dingal Distributing. Dave finished his career at Interstate Bakery where he worked many years until retirement and met many friends along the way. In 1984, Dave and Charlene partnered in the venture of The Charcoal Pit II, where Dave did a lot of PR work and made sure the popcorn bowls were full and the beer was stocked!! Dave loved to travel whether it be a local road trip, to Panama City Beach or any destination, he was sure to make new friends. Never too busy for a friendly greeting and good chuckle. Dave worked hard and played hard. He will be remembered for his compassionate kindness, genuine heart, generosity, contagious laugh and welcoming smile.

He is survived by his grandchildren, Brook Marshall, Oshkosh, Carter Marshall, Oshkosh; daughter in law, Lisa Marshall, Oshkosh; brother Don (Carol) Marshall, Oshkosh; brother in law Wayne (Vi) Hinz, Oshkosh; nephews, Steve (Lisa) Marshall, Green Bay, Michael Marshall, Waupaca and niece Wendy Hinz, Oshkosh. Dave is survived by many dear friends who were considered family, especially Mike Embs and Patty Haase. Preceding Dave in death is wife Charlene Marshall; sons David and Daniel Marshall; sister Eleanor Marshall; parents Dr. David and Nina Marshall; and in laws Edwin and Ruth Hinz.

A celebration of David’s life will be held at The Hangar Bar and Grill, 1485 W. 20th Ave, Oshkosh, WI on Tuesday, July 12 from 3 to 7pm. Come raise a toast for Marshall!
