Dorothy Alice Voss, 88, went to join our Lord on June 11, 2023. She was born on November 17, 1934, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to parents, Herbert and Emma Meyer.
She married the love of her life, Lyle, on September 6, 1958, in Faith Lutheran Church in Oshkosh and they shared 65 years together. She was affectionately known as “Matka”, “Grammy” “Matka Bubbles” or “Dud.”
Dorothy enjoyed fishing, spending time with her dogs, baking, being creative in the kitchen and was an avid non-fiction reader. She often said “No wine before it’s time” to family and friends who were lucky enough to enjoy her good cooking. She loved to teach and not only raised her own children, but she was also very active in her grandchildren’s lives and taught them how to read. In addition, she taught Sunday school for many years. She shared important wisdom with everyone and said, “Never go to bed mad at anyone.”
Survivors include her husband, Lyle; three children, Morgan (Debbie) Voss, Erron (Joe) Sagen and Shannon (Kim) Voss; six grandchildren, Ashley (Dustin) Voss-Kunkel, Justin Voss, Madisen (Tyler) Anklam, Bailey Sagen, Kailyn (Justin) Schultz and Brandon Voss; two great-grandchildren, Greyson Kunkel and James Anklam; and special sister, Audrey Mateyka.
She is preceded in death by her parents and seven brothers and sisters.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
