Betty was a registered nurse for 39 years.  She worked as a staff nurse and nurse instructor in Denver, Colorado.  She worked as a clinical nurse specialist in maternity development and director of Family Centered Maternity Care at Methodist Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin from 1972 to 1981.  Betty’s last employer was the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh working as an academic staff/clinical instructor/learning laboratory coordinator for 13 years retiring in 1994.

Betty was a member of Algoma Blvd United Methodist Church in Oshkosh since 1982.  She was very active in church and a member of United Methodist Women.  Betty loved cats and had many pictures, and other items that were related to cats.  Betty enjoyed traveling and being able to drive wherever she wanted to go.  At Evergreen she looked forward to the evenings she play Mexican dominoes.  She always appreciated the freedom she had driving her cart around Evergreen to visit friends in the building, see the waterfalls, be outside enjoying the sunshine and taking pictures of flowers.  Betty loved having the many contacts she had on Facebook.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Edwin Merington and a sister Barbara Limon.  She is survived by nieces Linda (Larry) Ooms and Kathleen (William) Corbett; nephews Kenneth (Jackie) Norin and Brian (Eleanor) Norin.  She is also survived by many great nephews and nieces.

Betty requests that memorials be given to Evergreen Retirement Community or Algoma Blvd. United Methodist Church.   Plans for a Memorial Service may occur at a later date.
