Obituary for Helen Mueller

Helen Gettelman Mueller, born August 22, 1922, died on April 23, 2021 at the age of 98.

Mrs. Mueller was the widow of former Universal Foundry owner and President Richard Carl “Dick” Mueller of Oshkosh (1921 – 2001), whom she married in 1944.

She was the youngest and last surviving of four children born to former Gettelman Brewery owner and president Fredrick Gettelman and Louise Starke Gettelman of Milwaukee. She had two brothers Frederick (Marge) Gettelman and Thomas (Nancy) Gettelman and a sister Louise Gettelman Stoltz (John).

She is survived by her four children: Diana (Ruben) Cabigting, of Wheaton IL, Glenn (Jan) Mueller of Silverthorn, CO, Wayne (Mary Anne) Mueller of Oshkosh and Brian (Lizette) Mueller of Pompano Beach, FL; seven grandsons: Andrew, Starke (Brianna), Graham, Brian Alexander, Justin and Kevin Mueller, a granddaughter Adi Cabigting (Garrett Sergent), and by five great grandchildren: Petra, Tora, Cela and Zion Mueller and William Sargent.

She is also survived by her nephews Fred Gettelman, Paul Gettelman, Ted Gettelman and Robert Stoltz, nieces Betty Gettelman Pollard and Dottie Stoltz Delander.

She graduated from the former Milwaukee University School and received a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Wisconsin Madison.

Mrs. Mueller was active in civic organizations including: St. Andrews Lutheran Church of Oshkosh, AAUW, American Red Cross, PEO, Girl Scouts and Lutheran Homes of Oshkosh.

A service and fellowship will be held on April 30, 2021 at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 1100 E. Murdock Ave. at 3pm. Burial will take place at Lakeview Memorial Park. Memorials to American Red Cross of East Central Wisconsin.
