Obituary for Jack Allen Starrett

Jack A. Starrett, 68, passed away in Oshkosh, WI on September 15, 2021. He was born on May 14, 1953, to Ruth (Washburn) and Albert Starrett in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Jack married Bobbi Steffen on August 27, 1977.

Jack enjoyed golfing, bowling, woodworking, fishing, and going on nature hikes with Bobbi. He was a proud member of First Presbyterian Church in Oshkosh; it was his home away from home. Jack proudly served in the U.S. NAVY. He was a member of the local 400 – Steamfitters Union. Jack retired from Bassett Mechanical in Kaukauna after 19 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Bobbi; two daughters, Jennifer (Scott) Mellgren, and Michelle (Mark) Olejniczak of De Pere; three grandchildren, Allisyn Olejniczak, Rylan Olejniczak, and Tyler Mellgren. He is further survived by brother, Jay (Julie) Starrett of Whitefish Bay; sister-in-law, Barbara Starrett of Orinda, CA, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Preceding him in death are his parents; and his brother, Dale.

Services will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 110 Church Ave., Oshkosh, on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, with visitation from 9am until the time of service at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the First Presbyterian Church, 110 Church Ave. or the Red Cross of Northeast Wisconsin in honor of Jack.
