Obituary for Jerome N. Wolf

Jerome Nicholas Wolf passed on to his Eternal Reward surrounded by the Love of his Lord and Family on Sunday, January 8th, at his home in Oshkosh. Jerry was welcomed into this world by his parents Victor and Veronica Wolf on September 11, 1935. He was born in Hilbert, WI and was the oldest of four siblings: Jerome, Rosemary, Leander, and Francis.

Before graduating from Hilbert High School in 1953, Jerry worked as an electrician to help pay for his education, helping fuel his desire to teach others about electronics. Jerry attended the University of Wisconsin-Stout where he met Agnes Heidenreich. They were married on August 19, 1958, at St. Wenceslaus Church in Yuba, Wisconsin. Jerry went on to receive multiple degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Stout including a bachelor's degree in Industrial Education in 1958, a Master’s degree in Vocational Education in 1962, and an Educational Specialist degree in 1974.

After their marriage Agnes and Jerry moved to Oshkosh, Wisconsin, where Jerry spent over 35 years in post-secondary education with an emphasis on vocational & technical education, including roles as instructor and administrator before retiring in 1997. During his time in post-secondary education, Jerry spent four summers studying under National Science Foundation grants to help apply math, science, electronics, and computers to technology education, including two summers at University of Illinois, one at University of Houston, TX, and one at University of Wisconsin – Madison.

Beyond his career, Jerry spent many years volunteering as a docent at the Paine Art Center, including one year as President of Garden Docents and another year as President of Art & House Docents. He was also a past member of Master Gardeners and an avid gardener, a charter member of St. Vincent DePaul of Oshkosh, an active member of St. Mary’s and later Most Blessed Sacrament parishes, including being an usher and communion distributor for many years.

Jerry is survived by his Children: Mary Beth (Dan) Borst, Neshkoro, Wisconsin, Ann Marie (Patrick) Noonan of Oshkosh, Wisconsin; Robert Joseph (Lori) Wolf of Woodbury, Minnesota; Grandchildren: Danielle Borst, Holly (Michael) Tuyls, Megan (Zach) Niska, Allyson Wolf, and Emma Wolf; and siblings Rosie (LeRoy) Meles and Fran (Carmen) Wolf. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife of over 66 years, Agnes; his parents, Victor and Veronica; and his brother, Lee.

Visitation will be held at Seefeld Funeral Home on Friday, January 13, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. A private family funeral mass will be held, followed by a private interment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers a memorial donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org/) would be appreciated.
