Obituary for Lois Annette Polzin

Lois A. Polzin, age 79, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022. She was born in Sturgeon Bay on July 16, 1942, the daughter of the late Karl and Erna (Westermann) Wiechman. She was confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church and graduated from Oshkosh High School Class of 1960. On December 11, 1965 she married William Polzin at Grace Lutheran Church, Oshkosh. He preceded her in death in 2013. Lois was a proud homemaker, and was a bookkeeper for the family business, Romlow’s Tavern. Lois loved to read, and was very active at Grace Lutheran which included: the school library, Graceful Quilters and Grace Circle. Lois will be remembered for her gentle and kind nature. She was the sweetest person on Earth.

Lois is survived by her children: Ed (Susan) Polzin of Chilton, Shelley (Dave) Richard of Somerset and Amy (Brad) Schoening of Oshkosh; grandchildren: Rachel and Jenny Polzin, Paul, David and Jeremiah Richard, and Maddie Schoening; brothers and sister: Eunice Gibson, Kenneth (Joann) Wiechman and Philip (Angie) Wiechman; and sisters-in-law: June Wiechman and Sandy Piencikowski. She was preceded in death by her husband, William; her parents; and brothers-in-law, John Gibson and Tony Piencikowski.

A visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 913 Nebraska St., Oshkosh, with Rev. Joshua Jensen officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Park, Oshkosh.
