Marguerite M. Zelhofer, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020. She was born in Essexville, MI on August 2, 1926 the daughter of the late Peter and Martha (Willett) Johnson. On August 13, 1947 she married Raymond in Essexville. Marguerite was known to volunteer at Mercy Medical Center, making baby hats. She loved gardening and had a huge vegetable garden, quilting, baking and watching squirrels. Her faith in God was very strong. Marguerite will be remembered for the love she had for her family.
Marguerite is survived by her daughters: Susan (Glenn) Mentink of Neshkoro, Catherine (Thomas) O’Connell of Oshkosh, Jane Nygaard of Oshkosh, Fran Haese of Oshkosh and Louise (Paul) Schoenike of Omro; grandchildren: Heather (Rob), Amber (Seth), Shannon, Michael (Jessie), Christina (Jeff), Aaron, Carrie, Melissa, Jeremy (Theresa), Coltan (Jacob) and Kaitlin (Austin); seven (7) great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Nancy Zelhofer and Sally Zelhofer; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; her parents; daughter, Sharon Carlson; sister, Genevieve Johnson; son-in-law Mike Nygaard, as well as her brothers-in-law: Robert, Harold, Franklin and Roman Zelhofer and sisters-in-law: Lorraine Zelhofer and Betty Zelhofer.
The family of Marguerite would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Waterford, especially Lisa G., Addison, Paige, and Tiffany as well as Heartland Hospice, especially Patricia, Deb and Lynn for the wonderful care they gave Mom.
A private family Mass was held and burial was in Lakeview Memorial Park, Oshkosh.
