Obituary for Paula Marie Neese

Paula Neese, 72, formerly of Rockmont, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2020. Alzheimers took her memory and her health but it couldn’t take her smile and warmth.

A 1965 graduate of Northwestern High school in Maple, Paula went on to receive a baccalaureate degree in Hotel and Restaurant management from Michigan State University. After working for L.J Minor Corporation in Cleveland, Ohio, she moved to Madison starting a 30-year career as an assistant director of Housing and Food Service for UW-Madison. She fully embraced campus life and enjoyed Badger sports and events. In retirement, she moved from Madison to the family homestead in Rockmont. Her final wish was to donate her body to science so that others may benefit from her departure.

Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Arbutus (VanBuskirk) and Walter Neese; sisters Barbara Lien and Lois Potter, and nephew Hugh Evitt. She is survived by her brother Kirk (Cindy) Neese, Fond du Lac, and sister Nancy (Michael) Fredrickson, Superior; nieces Michal (Gerry) Unrah, Sandy Evitt, Leslie (Troy) Hiatt, Cherri (Jeff) Czerniejewski, Mindy Neese, Gabby (Dan) Finnegan, Lane (Jerod) Fischer and nephews Mark Potter, Cam Potter and Paul Fredrickson; many great nieces and nephews and special cousins Scott Watson (Meredith Alt) and Jill Watson (Tom Williams).

The family would like to thank the team at Azura Memory Care of Oshkosh for taking such good care of Paula during her time there.

A celebration of life will be held on June 7th, 2020, 9 a.m. at Devil’s Lake State Park in Baraboo, WI.
In lieu of flowers, please enjoy some time at a local state park.
