Obituary for Ronald James Bell

Ronald J. Bell, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020. He was born on May 16, 1932 in Milwaukee to James E. and Leona E. Bell. He attended schools in Milwaukee and served his country from 1951 to 1954 as an intelligence specialist in the Army. Ron met Marion E. LeGraf through his aunt, Ruth Bhirdo, and they married on July 16, 1955. They had 61 ½ years of happiness before Marion died on St. Valentine’s Day of 2017. Ron retired in April, 1988 from Oshkosh Truck and did a lot of volunteer work during his 30 plus years of retirement. That included 13 years as President of the Wisconsin Trap shooters Association. He was enshrined into the WTA Hall of Fame on July, 2000 as well as the Gateway Hall of Fame in September, 1998.

Ron is survived by his sisters-in-law, Kathy Bell and Audrey Bowen; numerous nieces and nephews; cousins; great and great, great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gene Bell; and sister, Doris Mason.

It was Ron’s wish to be cremated with no services. Memorials in Ron’s name may be given directly to Oshkosh Area Humane Society, 1925 Shelter Ct. Oshkosh, WI 54901.
