Obituary for Ryan Paul Derber

Ryan P. Derber, 39, passed away in San Fransisco, CA on Monday, December 3, 2018.

Ryan was born in Oshkosh, WI on June 10, 1979. He graduated from Omro High School, class of 1997 with High Honors and served as Class President. He followed high school with a BA in Speech Communications and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in Human Resource Management from UW-Oshkosh. He went on to achieve an MBA in Human Resource Management in 2009.

After school, Ryan took an interest in helping others with fitness, having earned a certificate through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. He was also a Fitness Instructor at Elipse Fitness. He was a Human Resource Manager at the American Red Cross in Oshkosh and was a Senior Human Resource Manager at Poly One Designed Structures and Solutions. He was the Director of College Relations on the Wisconsin State Council SHRM. Ryan volunteered through to his death as the Director of Communications and Social Media at Wisconsin State Council SHRM and was the Business Owner of Great Oak Solutions, LLC.

Ryan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leon and Orva Derber, Duane and Ardis Schoening; uncles, Fred Marshall of St Louis, MO, Dave Schoening of Terre Haute, IN, and Don Gebhart of Winneconne, WI; and cousins Joshua King of NC, and Brigg Marshall of St Louis, MO.
Ryan leaves behind mother, Becky J Flanagan (Ben) of Waukau; father, Gary L Derber (Stormie) of Omro; sister, Raechel L Derber of Omro; nephew, Jackson Todd of Omro; aunts, Bonnie Marshall of St Louis, Barbara Gebhart of WI, Debbie Schoening of Terre Haute, IN, Beth King of Oshkosh, Beverly Corpus (Jim) of Fox Crossing, Beth Treptow (Lance) of Omro; uncles, Dan Schoening (Lisa) of Terre Haute, IN, Paul Derber of Omro, Dennis Schoening (Vicki Tritt) of Oshkosh; many cousins; extended family, Kal Coats of Wabeno, Powers Coats of Oshkosh, Quentin Towne, Crystal Teague and Crag Towne; and special friends Ivette Chavez, Jennifer Janness, Sara Luchsinger and Jamie Larson. He is especially loved and missed by his beloved and spoiled Black Lab, Ellie May.

He is greatly loved and his kindness and sincerity will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.

A visitation will be held Monday, December 10, 2018 at Kwiatkowski Funeral Home from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm with his service to follow.
