Obituary for Wayne C. Curran

Wayne Cyril Curran, 87, passed away in peace on Friday, December 23, 2022. He was born in Milwaukee, WI, on March 13, 1935, the son of the late Cyril and Ella (Zaeske) Curran. In 1954, he graduated from Rufus King H.S. (Milwaukee). In Muskego, WI, on March 26, 1960, he married his wife of 62 years, Sylvia Ann Hill, from Saxon, WI. In between, he worked for the Canteen Corporation and served three years in the Army.
After he and Sylvia brought five wonderful children into this world, he became an Operations Manager, first, for Canteen, and then second, for ARA Corporation, in Denver, CO, as well as in Kohler, WI, retiring in 1992 and moving to Oshkosh, WI, in 1996. Wayne was active with his sons in Cub Scouts, loved traveling, coached bowling and baseball in Muskego, and was an avid golfer who shared his skills with his children. He loved watching old movies and sports, especially the Badgers, and will also be remembered for his uplifting sense of humor.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Sylvia; Children: Tim (Lisa Topaz) Curran, Bentley (Anne) Curran, Dale Curran, Kathy (Jack) May; Sister: Bonnie Curran.

Grandchildren: Lisa & Tim’s Serena Curran; Anne & Bentley’s Jacinta (Chris) Emmers, Nicholas (Emily), Lance, Trevor, Luke & Natalie Curran; Suzanne & Brett’s Ashley (Cody) Volk, Zachary & Sydney Koch; and Kathy & Jack’s Brianna (Matt) Swanepoel, Anthony (Hunter Barry) & Collin May.

Great Grandchildren: Jacinta & Chris’ Taylor, Chase & Lucia Radl, and Adella & Oliver Emmers; Ashley & Cody’s Micah Buck, Vienna & Grayson Rice; Emily & Nicholas’ Elijah & Lillian Curran, and their third, name TBD on or around 3/19/23; and Tony & Hunter’s Aubree & Bennett May.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Brothers: Roy & Edward; Sisters: Gladys, Gloria, Iris, Linda, Betty & Joan; Brothers-in-law: Harry Pik & Anthony Gancitano; Sister-in-law: Rosemarie Chmiel.
Daughter: Suzanne Marie Koch; Granddaughter: Kathy & Jack’s Claudia Lauren May; and Great-Grandson: Ashley’s Landen Elliott Buck.

A private family celebration will take place at a later date. A special thank you is extended to the staff at Park View Health Center for their very competent and professional TLC.
