Obituary for Robert Ray DeVoe

Robert Ray DeVoe
Robert R. “Bob” DeVoe, age 94, of Oshkosh, died Friday morning, March 9, 2018, at Bella Visita. He was born on June 4, 1923 in Oshkosh, the son of Raymond and Alma (Suhr) DeVoe. His family lived for a short time in Sheboygan and it was there that he met his future wife, Anne Marie Pekoll. They were married on December 2, 1950 in Oshkosh and shared their lives for 67 years until Anne’s death on November 17, 2017.
During WWII, Bob served his country in the United States Army. Bob was employed as a sales representative in the Heating/Cooling Industry prior to his retirement. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, American Legion, BPO of Elks, and Lakeside Club. He enjoyed time spent bowling, golfing, fishing, hunting, and card playing.
Survivors include a daughter, Lynn (Phil) DeVoe-Wier of Heath, Texas; granddaughter, Michelle Wier of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and grandson, Tyler Wier of Dallas, Texas. Proceeding Bob in death was his wife Anne; parents, Ray and Alma; son, Michael Franklin DeVoe; and sister, June Hanson. Bob leaves behind way too many friends to list, so a special thank you to the great numbers of friends who made life precious for Bob. May he share eternity with Anne and Michael, whom he greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at 12 Noon, in Lake View Memorial Chapel, with Father Chris Arnold officiating. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until service time at the cemetery chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials made in Bob’s memory to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
