Obituary for Doris E. Lohry (Knop)

Doris E. Lohry, age 82, of Oshkosh passed away Friday, August 24, 2012, at St. Luke Medical Center in Milwaukee. Doris was born June 24, 1930, in West Allis, to Frank and Elsie (Seizer) Knop. She was educated in West Allis. In her younger years, Doris worked at Allen Bradley. She married Warren Lohry on November 23, 1957, at Trinity Lutheran Church in West Allis. She sold Avon for many years, wherever she and Warren lived. Doris enjoyed sewing, often making her own clothes. She was an excellent baker, especially banana or zucchini bread. She enjoyed traveling all over the United States, visiting family and friends, especially going to see her sons, wherever the Air Force stationed them.

Doris is loved and will be missed by her husband of almost 55 years, Warren, of Oshkosh; her sons, James (Margaret) Lohry of Hanford, CA and Mark Lohry of Council Bluffs, IA; sister, Ruth Gorichanaz of West Allis; brother in law, Robert Lohry of Menasha; sisters in law, Adeline Buzzell of Pardeville, Dolores Bonneau of CA, and Lorraine Becker of Manitowoc; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Wilfred, Frank, Jim and Eddie; and sisters, Florence Koss, Elsie Cheslike, Viola Wilm and June Knickelbein.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2012, 11:00 a.m., at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 338 N. Eagle St., with Rev. David Pagel officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, August 29, 2012, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Doris will be laid to rest at Lake View Memorial Park. Memorials in Doris’ name may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church Building Fund.
