Obituary for Alma Kosmer (Fischer)

Alma Kosmer, age 90, of Oshkosh, WI, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at The Waterford. Alma was born on February 22, 1926, to the late Henry and Marie (Hartman) Fischer. She married Gerald Kosmer on March 15, 1947, at Zion Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. Alma was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church, and also was a volunteer for the Zion Food Program and ADVOCAP. She was a secretary for the state of WI for a Probation and Parole Office. Alma loved to sew, and greatly enjoyed time spent with her family and grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandra (Dale) Weitz of Oshkosh; grandchildren, Amy (Robin) Stibb, Jennifer (Jay) Wolff, and Timothy (Kelly) Weitz all of Oshkosh; six great-grandchildren, Makenna, Chloe, and Emery Wolff, Ashley Geurts, Lola Grace Weitz, and Laura Stibb; and a great-great granddaughter, Ashlynn Tia Jean Conlin. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews. Alma is preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son Keith Kosmer; and her siblings Elizabeth Gunther, Leah Steinhilber, Ann Neustifter, Lydia Demler, Alex Fischer, Esther Bathke, Linda Steinhilber, and Marion Lisney.
Funeral services for Alma will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, 400 N. Sawyer Street, with the Reverend Jeffrey Knoll officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memorial Park Cemetery. Family and friends may call directly at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Alma’s name may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or Heartland Hospice. Alma’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Jeanette Schrauth, Katie Lee, and all the caregivers as well as her special friend Mary at The Waterford, for their care and support over the past 10 months. Also, a special thank you to Heartland Hospice, Dani, Debbie, and Christine.
