Obituary for Barbara Ann Burmeister

Barbara A. Burmeister, age 66 of Ripon, formally of Duluth, Minnesota, went to be with the angels on Thursday, November 17, 2005, after a courageous battle with lung disease and many other complications. She was born July 28, 1939. On June 19, 1957 she married the love of her life, John Burmeister.

Barbara was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and friend to many. She retired from Holy Cross Hospital as a Respiratory Therapist. She loved life itself, God, Family, Bingo, Traveling, and most of all she enjoyed going to the Casinos. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church: now St. Catherine of Siena.

Barbara is preceded in death by her daughter: Ruth Burmeister; sister: JoAnn Adams; brother: John Dabe; adoptive parents: William and Ruth Parmalee; biological parents: Margaret (Walter) Oden and Virgil (Mary) Gravelle; and Mother and Father-in-law: Lucille and Harry Burmeister. Her loving husband, John Burmeister Sr. survives her along with her son: John Jr. (Reba) Burmeister of Oakfield; daughter: Gloria (Timothy) Casperson of Ripon; grandchildren: Timothy Burmeister, Adam Wood, Ashlee LeGear, Katie Casperson, Amanda Casperson, and Della Burmeister; and a beautiful great-granddaughter: Hailey Elizabeth Burmeister. She is further survived by sisters: Peggy (Stanley) Chruscielski, Jennifer (Barry) Downs, and Judy (Henry) Cooper; brothers: Robert (Marilyn) Gravelle, Bert Dabe, and William Dabe; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Barbara will be held on at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 300 N. Eagle Street, the Reverends Robert Fictum and John Schmitz officiating. A time of visitation and support will be held at Seefeld Funeral Chapels, 300 N. Eagle Street on Monday, November 21, 2005 from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and also on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.

The family would like to express many thanks to the staff of Ripon Medical Center, University of Madison Hospital, Mercy Medical Center, and Omro Care Center for the excellent care and devotion they gave to Mom during her illness.
