Obituary for Melvin Bernhard Diener

Melvin Bernhard  Diener
Melvin B. Diener Sr. , 89, of Oshkosh, passed away with his daughters by his side on November 17, 2017. Melvin was born in Oshkosh on July 15, 1928 to the late Herman and Ludmilla (Weber) Diener. Melvin was lucky enough to have two loves of his life, Shirley (Paulick) and Jeannette (Springer). Melvin served our country in the Air Force, and then he established a lifelong career at Bergstrom Paper until his retirement. Melvin was a faithful Catholic, attending Mass every Sunday that he was able, so that he could spend his time with the Lord. He was a quiet man who could often be found fishing or hunting. He enjoyed spending time with his whole family, but he especially loved spending time with his many grandchildren.

Melvin is survived by his 3 daughters: Christine (Keith) Ladwig, Jill (Mike) Langlitz, Linda (Marc Simon) Diener, his 4 sons: Russ (Patty), Danny (Mary), Melvin Jr., and Wayne (Cheri), his step-children: Larry (Karen), and Kim (Julie), many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his brother: Kenneth (Sue), his sister-in-law: Maggie, and his brother-in-law: Harold Tegelmann. Melvin is also survived by many other family members and friends.

Melvin is preceded in death by his parents, wives, grandchildren: Nicholas Adam Ladwig, and Jesse Diener. He is also preceded in death by his brothers: Walter, Herman, Dennis, and his sister: Gert Tegelmann.

A time of visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at St. Jude the Apostle Church- St. Vincent, 216 W South Park Ave, Oshkosh. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, at 12:00 pm following visitation.

Melvin’s family would like to thank the staff at Mercy Medical Center on the 2nd floor for their care and concern of him during his final days.
