Obituary for Howard Wruck

Howard  Wruck
Howard Wruck, age 95, of Oshkosh, died Thursday evening, December 21, 2017, at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh. Born on March 18, 1922, in Van Dyne, Wisconsin, the son of John and Emma (Martin) Wruck, Howard married Rose Schmitz and she precedes him in death.
An U.S. Army Veteran, serving in Europe from 1942-1945, where he was awarded the Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars. Howard was a Life Member of the American Legion and DAV. He was a carpenter for 46 years in building construction until his retirement. Howard was a member of First English Lutheran Church and a Charter Member of Van Dyne Sportsman Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include three grandchildren, John (Rebecca) Wruck, Joshua (Chantelle) Wruck, and Russell (Elizabeth) Wruck; four step-children, Jean Beck, Ronald (Rosanne) Schmitz, Lyle (Patty) Schmitz, and Connie (Steve) Zellner; other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is further survived by close hunting and fishing companions, Scot Harenburg and Dennis and Laurie Oelerich, special friends, Dan & Debbie Koechell, and his loving, faithful companion, Babe. Howard was preceded in death by his wife, a son, John Wruck, step-daughter, Karen Huhta, a brother, Clarence Tank, and two sisters, Mildred Lyness and Vera Lamb.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Seefeld Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Reverend Timothy Greenwald officiating. Full Military Honors will be given. Interment will follow at Ledgeview Cemetery in Fond du Lac. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Online condolences to the family may be given at www.seefeldfuneral.com.
