Obituary for Charles D. Ehrenberg

Charles D. “Chuck,” “Big C,” Ehrenberg, age 86, of Oshkosh, went home to be with his Lord and Savior early Tuesday morning September 22, 2015. Chuck was born on March 13, 1929, as was his twin sister, Charlotte, to George and Mabel (Breaker) Ehrenberg. After graduating, he served his country with the U.S. Air Force in Alaska and California before being honorably discharged in 1953.
On July 5, 1952, Chuck married the former Mary Alice Meuler and they enjoyed over 60 years together before her death on October 25, 2012. Chuck was employed by Oshkosh Brewing Company, Winnebago County Highway Department, and later, retired from Rockwell International Inc. Not one to be “retired,” Chuck went back to work in Security.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda (Terry) Eisner of Stevens Point and Carol (John) McBrair of Oshkosh; grandchildren, Sara (fiancé, Vincent) Eisner of Stevens Point, Jerrod (Dawn) McBrair of Oshkosh, William McBrair of Berlin, Cody Eisner of Stevens Point, and Lacy “Curtains” McBrair of Berlin; great-grandchildren, Paige, Madelyn, and Dominic McBrair, Mitchell, Mercedes (Sadie Lady), and Mary Eisner; his twin sister, Charlotte Meisinger of Oshkosh, and sister, Dorothy Marine of Winneconne; brother-in-law, Vernon Matulle of Oshkosh; sister-in-law, Julie Ehrenberg of Oshkosh; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding Chuck in death is his wife; parents; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Eisner; a brother, Russell Ehrenberg; his sisters, Audrey Meisinger, Janice Matulle, and Barb (Rudy) Drebus; and brothers-in-law, Robert Meisinger, Norman Marine, and Don Marine.
A time of remembrance will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2015, with services to follow at 11:00 a.m., at Wyldewood Baptist Church, 3030 Witzel Ave. in Oshkosh. Pastor Jason Brenenstuhl will officiate with interment at Lake View Memorial Park where Chuck will be laid to rest next to Mary Alice. Full Military Honors will be given at the cemetery.
