Obituary for Debra Jane Paulsen

The heavenly door was open when the Lord Jesus sent an angel to get Debra Jane Paulsen on August 22, 2017. She was born in Oshkosh on July 16, 1954 to Earl Paulsen and Caroline (Dittloff) Auler. Debra was baptized by Rev. Kleinhans of Martin Luther Church. She went to school and was confirmed at Grace Lutheran. She graduated from West High School and attended Fox Valley Technical college. She worked as a caregiver and in childcare.
Deb is survived by her son, Daniel (Deanna) Paulsen, her grandchildren: Andy, Arin, Nikki, and Isaac Paulsen, her mother Caroline (Charles Thompson) (Dittloff) Auler, sister: Christine Paulsen, brothers: Thomas (Beverly) Paulsen, James Paulsen, John (Debra) Paulsen, her stepmother Delores Paulsen, and Paul, Mary and Kara Paulsen. Deb is also survived by her special caregiver Tracey Carroll, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Deb is preceded in death by her father, Earl Paulsen, her grandparents: Robert and Bernice Dittloff and Delephine Meier, and her sister-in-law, Jerilyn Paulsen.
Deb enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, shopping, gift shops, farmers markets, trips, seeing bands, and going out to eat. She also enjoyed music and dancing when she was younger. The last three and a half years she was at Parkview where she enjoyed Bingo, Bible class, the flower garden, and making friends., Deb loved when her family and friends visited her. Her mother would bring her dog, Sophie, who would always give Deb a hug and a kiss.

Deb enjoyed life in spite of many handicaps. She was a very generous and caring person.
The family would like to extend a big “thank you” to all who helped Deb and to all who were kind to her at Parkview.
A funeral service for Debra will take place on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Martin Luther Church with Pastor Berg and Pastor Ericson officiating. 1526 Algoma Blvd, Oshkosh. A time of visitation for Debra will take place from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm at Martin Luther. The family invites all in attendance to join them for a meal to celebrate Debra after the service. Burial of Debra will take place at Lake View Memorial Park in Oshkosh.
