Obituary for Edgar Henry Neubauer

Edgar Henry Neubauer of Oshkosh, died peacefully at Bethel Home on Saturday, April 8, 2006 at the age of 91. He was born to Rudolph and Emma (Woldt) Neubauer on December 23, 1914. On August 22, 1936 he married Ernestine Koch in Oshkosh.

Edgar was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He served Oshkosh for 29 years as a Captain of the Oshkosh Fire Department. He was determined, hard working, and a perfectionist. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son, worked with homing pigeons, and trained champion dogs competing in dog trials. He had a long fulfilling life.

Edgar is survived by his wife of 69 years: Ernestine of Oshkosh; son: Gerald (Joan) Neubauer of Oshkosh; daughter: Carol (Donald) Thorson of Winneconne; grandchildren: Robin (Richard) Suess of New York, Tracy Aberkamp of Sussex, Christine (Mark) Haskin of Arkansas, Daniel (Debra) Ludwig of Mississippi, and Courtney (Erick) Hausner of Oshkosh; and great-grandchildren: Alexa Suess, Steven Ludwig, Mathew Ludwig, and Aricka Hausner. Many nieces and nephews as well as good friends further survive Edgar. His daughter: Jean Ludwig preceded him in death as well as his brother: Harold (Joan) Neubauer and sisters: Marie Homolka, Lucille Zillges, Margaret Youngwirth, Frances Pohl, Dorothy Wagner, and Helen Neubauer.

Funeral services for Edgar will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 338 North Eagle Street, Reverend David F. Pagel officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation and support at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
