Obituary for Gaylord Weitz

Gaylord J Weitz, age 73, of Oshkosh, passed away at Bethel Home on April 19, 2017. He was born on December 22, 1943 to Rheinhold “Mickey” and Edna (Bargholt) Weitz in Oshkosh, WI. Gaylord attended Oshkosh High School. On September 21, 1968, Gaylord married Saundra Pence in Omro, WI. After several years working as a roofer, Gaylord retired so that he and his business partner could build a convenience store. Gaylord enjoyed playing cards as a member of Hanks Club, traveling as much as he was able, and spending time with his grandchildren. Family meant everything to Gaylord.
Gaylord is survived by his children: Gail (Matt) Hollis and Greg (Chris) Weitz, his grandchildren: Preslie Perdue, Mitch Perdue, Carson Hollis, Leah Hollis, Sam Weitz, Lucas Weitz, and Maddie Weitz, one great-granddaughter: Anniston Perdue, his sister Patricia (Reverand Jonathan) Stern, his sister-in-law: Jan Pence, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Gaylord is preceded in death by his parents, Rheinhold “Mickey” and Edna (Bargholt) Weitz.
A service for Gaylord will take place on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Seefeld Funeral Home, 1025 Oregon St, Oshkosh. A time of visitation for Gaylord will occur prior to the service at 1:00 PM at the funeral home, with Pastor Nathan Ericson of Martin Luther Church officiating the service.
