Obituary for Jane Marie Reque (Bursack)

Jane M. Reque, age 83, of Oshkosh, died Friday morning, March 13, 2015, at Oakwood Manor in Oshkosh. Born on January 2, 1932, the daughter of Clarence and Freda (Potratz) Bursack, Jane married Neuman “Whitey” Reque on July 5, 1952, and he preceded her in death on August 20, 1990. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was active in several social clubs including, “the club,” that started out in high school and has evolved into the “ladies club” that it currently is. Jane also was involved in the Miles Kimball “lunch bunch,” a card club, and several others that have developed in recent years.
Survivors include her children, Sally (Tom) Witak of Oshkosh, John (Celine) Reque of Darien, Illinois, Susan Reque of Oshkosh, and Julie (Brad) Cobb of Oshkosh; 10 grandchildren, Nathan (Robin) Wilson, Alex Wilson, Samantha (Tyler) Clark, Sara (Mike Holmquist) Hill, John Reque, Jr., Benjamin Reque, Kara (Tim) Finley, Krista (Keith) Recha, Kourtney (Dan) Riess, and Keven (Abby Patt) Cobb; 27 great-grandchildren; one brother, Bruce (Quinn) Bursack of Tampa, Florida; nieces ,nephews, and many long term close friends. Preceding Jane in death is her husband, two granddaughters, Sarah Wilson and Christina Beth Boone, and a brother-in-law, Richard Reque.
Jane enjoyed gardening, puzzles, playing games, shooting pool, the Packers, trips to the casino, and was an avid reader. She will be greatly missed. Jane was a great example of a mother and grandmother who was loved by all. She faced illness and death with courage and dignity.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. in Seefeld Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will take place at Lake View Memorial Park.
