Obituary for Larry Gordon Vesperman

Larry G. Vesperman, age 78, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and formerly of Oshkosh, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at St. Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles. Born on December 4, 1934, in Platteville, Wisconsin, the son of Oscar and Cora (Darling) Vesperman, Larry was employed by the State of Wisconsin as a Correctional Teacher in computer programming. He later was employed by Land’s End in the telephone department. Larry was active in the Boy Scouts and Lutheran Social Services. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Mazomanie, Wisconsin, where he served as an usher and sang in the church choir.
Survivors include his children, Theresa Vesperman Hau, Adrian (Joan) Vesperman, Jamie (Lisa) Vesperman, Dean (Crystal) Vesperman, and Gabriel Vesperman; step-children, Mary Lou (Scott) Blackwell and Jason (Amy) Last; grandchildren, Jacob, Sarah, Benjamin, Zachariah, James, and Julia; two brothers, Roger and Donald Vesperman; brother-in-law, Norm Mueller; and his companion, Sandy Reinke. Preceding Larry in death are his parents and three siblings, Bill, Eugene, and Arlene.
Memorial funeral services will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in Seefeld Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Reverend Marty Ruge officiating. Inurnment will follow at Peace Lutheran Cemetery. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to time of service at the funeral chapel.
