Obituary for Marion E. Bell

Marion E. Bell, age 82, of Oshkosh, died Tuesday morning, February 14, 2017 at Select Specialty Hospital in West Allis. She was born June 4, 1934, in Milwaukee, the daughter of George and Helen (VanderBloomer) Leygraf. Marion grew up in Milwaukee and was a graduate of Messmer High School. She married Ronald J. Bell in Milwaukee on July 16, 1955 and later moved to Oshkosh in 1969. Marion had worked for and retired from Triangle Manufacturing Co. in Oshkosh. She was one of the founding members of the OAHS, (Oshkosh Area Humane Society). Marion was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church – St. Vincent Site and also had served on the Parish Council. In her spare time, Marion enjoyed reading and often would read one good novel per day. She also enjoyed spending time in her garden attending to her flowers.
Marion is loved and will be missed by her husband of 61 years, Ronald J. Bell; sisters, Audrey (Joseph) Bowen, Cecile Newman; nieces and nephews, Greg Newman, Julie DiPiazza, Andrea Goodling, Liz Bergmann; great nieces and nephews, Matthew, Melissa, Monica, Marcus, Michael, Nicole, Amanda, Aaron, Cory, Jordan, Alec, Angela, John, Alicia, Amelia; great great nieces and nephews; other relatives, many near and dear friends and Marion’s current love of her life, “Roxee” her beloved cat. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother in law, Ronald Newman.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 20, 2017, at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church- St. Vincent Site, 1225 Oregon St., Oshkosh, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. with Fr. Mathew Simonar officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Marion’s name may be directed to the OAHS, (Oshkosh Area Humane Society).
Ron would like to thank all the doctors and nurses for the care given Marion over the past several months and would especially like to thank her niece, Liz Bergmann for her undying love, concern and devotion shown during her final illness.
