Obituary for Richard W. Lippert

Richard “Dick” W. Lippert, age 68, passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by friends and family, on Friday, October 9, 2015. He was born in Berlin on December 9, 1946 the son of the late Paul and Maxine (Mathias) Lippert. On April 17, 1980 he married Lucille (Gabryshak) Kasuboski at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Berlin. Dick worked at Chapman’s in Berlin for many years, following in his father’s footsteps. He was proud to play with the Berlin Reds, a minor league baseball team. He also took great pride in being a member of the exclusive Berlin Zoo Crew. He was active in his community including being a part of local high school sports and volunteer coach for the American Legion Baseball Team for many years. He was proud to see students advance to college sports and being selected to help coach the All-Star Legion Game at County Stadium. Dick always looked forward to his early morning coffee and paper to catch up with his friends, especially with his granddaughter, Seryn. He will be remembered for his kind and gentle spirit and his remarkable memory for sports trivia.
Dick is survived by his wife, Luci; children: Jackie (Steve) Raspotnik and Jon (Amy) Kasuboski; granddaughter, Seryn Raspotnik; sister, Nancy (Mike) Nichols; brother, Tom Lippert; and his special dog, Sassy. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his son, Jim Kasuboski.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in Berlin.
