Obituary for Shirley Ann Wesenberg (Nolan)

Shirley A. Wesenberg, age 80, of Oshkosh, died Tuesday morning, March 3, 2015, at Waterford. Born on November 4, 1934, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Maynard and Ann (Goldapske) Nolan, Shirley married Richard Wesenberg on June 21, 1958, in Fond du Lac.
She was an elementary school teacher in Kaukauna and later taught at Grace Lutheran Church Elementary School in Oshkosh. After retirement from teaching, Shirley became a LPN, working in home health care. A long-time member of Grace Lutheran Church, Shirley was involved with Grace Circle, Grace Choir, Grace Forever Young, was a Reading Buddy, and a piano teacher.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Richard Wesenberg of Oshkosh; a son, Steve (Cheryl) Wesenberg of Phelps, Wisconsin; a daughter, Lori (Tim) Schuster of Oshkosh; five grandchildren, Nathan (Vanessa) Zabel, Zachery (Alicia) Zabel, Sarah Wesenberg, Katelyn Schuster, and Courtney Schuster; a brother, Ronnie (Joy) Nolan of Fond du Lac; a sister, Diane (Mike) Griffiths of Fond du Lac; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Shirley in death are her parents and a sister, Carol Trepanier.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015, at 6:00 p.m. in Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 913 Nebraska Street, with Reverend Jeffrey Duquaine and Reverend Chadwick Graham officiating. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Christian Education at Grace Lutheran Church in Shirley’s memory would be appreciated. Online condolences to the family may be made at www.seefeldfuneral .com.
