Obituary for Ted Thales Boquist

Ted Thales Boquist, 71, of Minocqua, WI died unexpectedly at home with his wife Carol on January 21st, 2016. Born November 30th, 1944, to mother Mildred ("Louise") and father Orville Boquist. Ted was born in Rock Island, IL. Around the age of five his family moved to Redgranite, WI. Ted graduated from Wautoma High School in 1964, shortly after graduating Ted enlisted in the Army and did a tour of Vietnam and was discharged in 1967.
Ted started his work career in Oshkosh at the K-mart meat cutting department and then went to the Oshkosh 7-up plant. During the 70's Ted was active in the Army Reserves. In the early 70's Ted found himself at Oshkosh Truck where he ended his career by retiring at the early age of 62. After his retirement Ted and Carol moved from Oshkosh to Minocqua to their new home.
Ted was a Quarter Master for the VFW Post 7898 in Woodruff, WI for five years. His hobbies and interests were hunting, fishing, camping, I guess one could say he was an excellent outdoors-man. He enjoyed wood working, building model trains, golfing and motorcycling. Ted was a true friend helping anyone when asked. When the phone rang Ted was out the door helping neighbors, friends, co-workers and of course family.
Ted was a loving and caring husband to his wife Carol and a devoted father to his three children and a fantastic grandfather to his 6 grandchildren. Preceded in death by his mother and father and brother, Larry James Boquist and Douglas Edward DeLoach, Son-in-law.
Survived by his wife Carol and their three children: Scott Vaughan (wife Sonja and grandchildren Lora, Nikolaus, Zakary), Jamie Jajtner, Jodie DeLoach (grandchildren Chelsea (Bryan), Shannon, Teagen. Brother Joe, Niece Linda, Nephews Larry Jr, Troy, Jason.
Visitation will be held Wednesday January 27, 2016 4:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at Seefeld Funeral 1025 Oregon St, Oshkosh, WI. Military Honors will follow at the funeral home.
