Obituary for Vera Martha Werner
Vera Martha (Volkman) Werner, age 87, died peacefully at her home in the township of Black Wolf on Wednesday, October 5, 2005. She was born on January 18, 1918 in the township of Vinland, the daughter of Carl and Elisa (Schmeling) Volkman.
Vera graduated from the old Winneconne high school in 1936. On June 2, 1945 she was united in marriage to Harvey W. Werner. Vera lived all of her married life at their home in the township of Black Wolf. She has been a member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church in Oshkosh all of her married life.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Harvey Werner; daughter, Janet (Joseph) Vande Brink of Ripon; granddaughter, Suzanne (James) Hiltz; great-grandchildren, Dakota and Savana Hiltz all of Oshkosh; brother, Carl (June) Volkman of the township of Black Wolf; and nephews, David and Steve Volkman.
Vera was preceded in death by her sister, Yvonne A. Volkman in 1955, her father, Carl Volkman in 1957, and her mother, Elisa W. A. (Schmeling) Volkman in 1967. They were all laid to rest in Winneconne Cemetery.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 8th, at the Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street. The family will greet friends and family at 12:00 Noon on Saturday until the time of the services at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Daniel Krause officiating. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery in the township of Black Wolf.
