Obituary for Vivian Lorene Roehl

Vivian Lorene Roehl, age 84 of Green Bay, formerly of Oshkosh, died after battling a lingering illness on Friday, August 4, 2006 at Woodside Lutheran Home in Green Bay. She was born on March 19, 1922 to Waldo and Irma (Kuebler) Jensen. She was married to Kenneth A. Roehl on July 31, 1944. Vivian and Kenneth enjoyed 59 years together until his death in April of 2003.

A 40-year Oshkosh resident, Vivian was an active member of First Congregational Church, participating in the Women's Group, Annual Bazaar and various other church activities. She also volunteered with the Oshkosh Ecumenical Food Pantry. Vivian was a warm, caring, supportive and generous woman. Her family typically included not only those related by blood but also those church members in need and a few four-legged friends.

Vivian is survived by her daughter: Barbara Roehl of Green Bay; son: Steven (Wanda) Roehl of Wichita, Kansas; grandchildren: Rebecca, Nathan, and Elizabeth; great-grandchild: Jacob; cousins: Jim & Nan and Pat & Bob; as well as many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; sister: Helen; grandson: Christopher; and husband: Kenneth.

A memorial service for Vivian will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 12, 2006 at First Congregational Church, 137 Algoma Blvd., with Reverends Ralph and Carol DeBasio-Snyder officiating. A time of visitation and support will be held at the church on Saturday from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service. She will be buried in Riverside Cemetery of Oshkosh. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to First Congregational Church or the Oshkosh Ecumenical Food Pantry.
